#FridayFeature: Meet Michael!
Summertime at Office Sign Company means nice weather, installs, and an influx in orders! To stay on top of the game, we recently added another rockstar to our dynamite team, and you can find him in the production “Ready for Arts” department. We’re so excited to have another positive, hard-working and well-spoken member to our team! Without further adieu, meet Michael – our newest Production Artist!
- Where are you originally from? “I am originally from Fargo, North Dakota.”
- What’s your current position at Office Sign Company? “I am a production artist at Office Sign Company.”
- Can you tell us what all that will entail? “A production artist will complete the artwork and design needed to fulfill customer requests for products and will assist in prepping those designs to be ready for the rest of the production process.”
- Where did you attend college? “I graduated in 2014 from Rasmussen College. I pursued a degree in Multimedia Technologies and 3D Animation.”
- Have you worked anywhere previously? If so, where? “I was formerly a production assistant at KVLY, operating the cameras, teleprompter, and directing the stage for 4 different broadcasts in the morning. I was also a Technical Specialist for 3 years at a global company called HERE Technologies. I was helping to launch a new 3D map that self-driving cars would use to navigate. I was lucky enough to be able to travel multiple times to Mumbai, India to train operators to carry out this production.”
- Do you have any hidden talents or random fun facts you’d like to share? “I do play guitar and sing a little, but I have a bad case of stage fright.”
- What are you most looking forward to while working here? “I am most looking forward to gaining knowledge and experience from working with everyone that I can. I am excited to get to be a part of this great culture.”
- What’s your favorite part about this community? “My favorite part about this community is that everyone is very friendly and helpful to one another. Fargo also feels like a hub where there are always new businesses with new things to experience.”
- When I’m not at OSC, you can find me… “You can find me biking some of the trails around the area. I love to mountain bike.”
- What’s your favorite meal/restaurant in Fargo?? “Right now my favorite meal in Fargo is the Gyro Burger at JL Beers.”
- What advice would you give to younger people trying to get into your profession? “Get familiar with software, processes, and terms that are used in the industry. Always be researching new and upcoming trends for this kind of market. It is best to try and stay ahead.”
It didn’t take long to recognize that Michael would fit right in here at Office Sign Company. Michael, thanks for laughing at our jokes even if they aren’t funny and being so willing to learn the in’s and out’s of OSC as quickly as you can! Cheers to you, and welcome to the team!
