With over 10 years in the sign business, Erik Grande is no newcomer to the intricate world of signs. Just a month into his time at Office Sign Company and we’re pretty sure we landed one of the best there is. A Fargo local, Erik took the long road to Office Sign Company, spending 16 years on country radio in the area and another 10 years in the sign industry before recently finding us here at OSC.
This week, we had a chance to sit down with Erik and dig a little deeper into the man behind the vinyl department. A self proclaimed college football fanatic, Erik doesn’t really root for any particular team and after only a brief time of talking to him, I could tell he’s the kind of person who just simply loves the game. Or maybe its the tailgating? We did hear rumor of a certain affinity to grilling and cooking up his famous jambalaya, which makes us think we need to have more company wide potlucks….
When we asked Erik what his favorite part about his new gig with OSC was, he shared with us the excitement of learning new machines as well as refining his craft from what was previously focused on larger scale items to now include some of the more detailed, smaller things such as labels, decals, ID badges and hand banners. Another perk of life at OSC according to Erik; the people who make this place so great. We couldn’t agree more.
On another note, keep your eyes out, if you look closely in a certain Tailgator’s commercial…you may just see a familiar face. But we won’t say who…
A little more background on our vinyl department that Erik heads up; this three person team makes up about a third of all the business OSC does on a daily basis. And by the way, did you know that those signs on your window….well they’re probably vinyl. Those stickers slapped on your bumper? Vinyl. The ID badge you swipe to get into work? Well our vinyl department handles those prints, too! The possibilities of working with vinyl are pretty fascinating if you ask us…but then again, we might be biased. But we are thankful to have Erik working so hard to produce such quality products for OSC.
So here’s to the vinyl pro; Erik Grande, welcome to the team, we think we’re pretty lucky to have you.
