Why We Love the RMHC-RRV
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate enough to work with the awesome staff at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley. Last week, this non-profit held a well-deserved grand opening at their new location! And, we couldn’t be more excited for this wonderful organization. It’s filled with a caring, hard-working staff who brings a touch of home and hospitality to families in need, and their mission makes them all the better.
In case you’re unfamiliar with this organization, the RMHC’s mission is to provide home-like comfort to families whose children are receiving medical care in the Fargo-Moorhead area. This kind of care includes housing, home-cooked meals, a playroom for kids, and above all, support. This house started in 1974, and over the years grew to house 6 families at a time. Eventually, they were able to house 12 families per night when they expanded to two locations.

Last year, however, they had 46 families they were unable to house. The need for a larger “home away from home” was at an all-time high. That need did not go unnoticed. Now, with land generously donated by Sanford, they are able to house and provide support to more families than ever before in a 24-bedroom home, with private bathrooms! This beautiful home is equipped with an elevator, fully stocked kitchen for the families, a playroom, and above all a place where families can sleep, eat and be together while their child undergoes the care he/she needs.
Because of the Ronald McDonald House, families who travel to get medical attention won’t have to spend the outrageous expense of hotel rooms and restaurants. Between the staff and volunteers, families are able to sleep in a comfortable home (walking distance from Sanford Medical Center), eat fresh, home-cooked meals, and receive the care they need while going through a stressful time.

Office Sign Company is so proud to not only sponsor this organization, but to know the people behind this non-profit and see the hard work they put into serving these families. With that, to everyone who made this grand opening possible, we say congratulations and THANK YOU for providing families with this needed development. Cheers to you, and we look forward to volunteering with you very soon.
