Perks of Acrylic
When deciding on signage options, it’s not a bad idea to talk to some signage experts! If you’re envisioning a certain design but you’re not too sure of your options, give us a call. The last thing we’re going to do is up-sell you. We help you consider the best options for your project (that will withstand its environment), without breaking your wallet. Often times, that “best option” is an acrylic substrate.
What exactly is acrylic if we’re not talking about the paint? Acrylic, in signage terms, refers to a sheet of plastic-like material (similar to plexiglass) made to withstand weathering properties while still remotely flexible. In this brief blog, we’ll go over the benefits of acrylic and some of its uses!
Benefits
- Acrylic is engrave-able, tactile-able, printable, and vinyl-able!
- It has exceptional weather-ability (these words classify as words when you throw a “-” in there)
- Versatile
- Can form to virtually any shape
- Virtually scratch-resistant
- Glass-like clarity
- 250 times stronger, and 6 times lighter than glass
- Cost efficient!
Uses
- Garden signs
- Open/closed signs
- Nameplates, nameplates, nameplates!
- Name tags
- So much more. We mean that literally, not in the generic infomercial voice!
We’re not trying to sway you towards or away from acrylic, but hopefully this was an educational piece for you! Now you know that “acrylic” is more than paint and a nail design. We learn something new everyday, don’t we? As always, we love hearing about any questions you have, and try our best to answer them accordingly. Feel free to send any questions or suggestions to the email below. Thanks for reading – cheers!
