Marisa, or Mo as she’s known to most of us here at OSC, might be one of the spunkiest people you’ll ever meet. WIth a sense of humor that’ll definitely keep you laughing, she can regularly be found at the coffee pot pouring another cup (she was named OSC’s biggest coffee addict) or at her desk printing artwork for our production team. We’re pretty thrilled to have this awesome lady on our team. Hear more from Mo herself!
Name: Marisa
Position at OSC: Production Print Specialist
Tell us a little bit more about what this entails? I print customer artwork that is heat pressed onto metal by our sublimation guys. I also prototype designs for new signage that we will offer to customers, and I am currently learning how to use the flatbed – our large format UV printer.
Where did you go to college? If you graduated, what is your degree in? I graduated from Concordia College Moorhead with a degree in Graphic Design and Communication.
Where did you start your career? Here at OSC! I started part-time during my senior year of college and then started full time after graduation.
How long have you been with OSC? 2 years and 2 months!
Favorite thing about your job at OSC? My co-workers. They are hilarious and we are always laughing or playing jokes on each other. They make coming to work fun everyday.
Favorite OSC tradition, event or work perk? Redhawks baseball game and OSC Olympics!
Favorite thing about Fargo / Moorhead? The connections I have made with people from college and through Office Sign Company. FM area = Good people.
When I’m not at OSC you can find me….Probably on my couch watching Parks & Rec or Broad City…with my dog Piper or planning our next vacation with my husband Levi.
Favorite place to travel to? Banff, Canada or Santorini, Greece.
Favorite restaurant in town? Doolittles or Spitfire.
Favorite sports team? I got pretty into football this year…it would be tough to choose just 1 team…
What advice would you give to younger people trying to get into your profession? Even if the job isn’t 100% what you went to school for, it can end up teaching you other valuable skills and processes that can help you for your future. I have learned a lot about the production side of design and the materials that can be used to carry out a design. It has been rewarding to see my designs go from on screen through to the finished product, whether on a sign, mug, or a t-shirt.
