We’re at it again!! Our team here at OSC just keeps growing…this time, we’re welcoming another Cobber alumni to the team. With a degree in multimedia journalism and a minor in art and communication, we’re confident we just added an extremely valuable individual to the team. Without further ado, hear more from Anna herself!
Name: Anna Erickson
Position at OSC: Production Layout Artist
Tell us a little bit more about what this entails? I’ve been training during most of my time at OSC so far, but I’ve started doing ready for arts, which is basically creating the art that gets put onto signs!
Where did you go to college? I went to Concordia College where I received a Bachelor of Arts in multimedia journalism with minors in art and communication.
Where did you start your career? Right here at OSC!
How long have you been with OSC? I joined the team just over two weeks ago on March 2nd!
Favorite thing about your job at OSC? I love that I get to be in an encouraging and welcoming environment where I am able to spend my day using my graphic design skills!
Favorite OSC tradition, event or work perk? I love the sense of community! I’ve only worked at OSC for a couple of weeks, so I haven’t been a part of many events or traditions yet, but the great company culture has been something I’ve noticed since day one!
Favorite thing about Fargo / Moorhead? I love how there’s always something going on. I especially love the street fair and Red River Market in the summer! Also, I love all of the fun places to go out to eat!
When I’m not at OSC you can find me….At the lake! I grew up on Lake Ida in Alexandria, MN and I find myself back there whenever I have time. In the winter, I’m usually baking, crafting, or trying out new restaurants with friends!
Favorite place to travel to? Australia and New Zealand have a big piece of my heart! I was lucky enough to spend a semester on the Sunshine Coast in Australia where I spent my days hiking up mountains, through rainforests, and along ocean-side cliffs. I miss it every day!
Favorite restaurant in town? It’s hard to choose because Fargo has so many great places! I’d have to say Würst Bier Hall and The Boiler Room are at the top of my list.
Favorite sports team? I don’t really follow sports, but I don’t mind watching the Wild play every once in a while.
What advice would you give to younger people trying to get into your profession? Try and get as much experience as you can! Be willing to step out of the box too. It helps open up career opportunities you may not have thought about before. Also, the more practice you can get with design, the better you get at it!
