When I think of bamboo, I usually don’t get too far past the image of a big panda chomping on a stick of green bamboo. So to imagine bamboo as anything beyond this comes as a challenge for me. But in reality, bamboo is one of the most amazing renewable resources in the world.
So when I was given the task of writing about about our bamboo signs, I gladly took on the challenge to learn more about this material. Here’s what I found….
- Bamboo is the fastest growing renewable resource on earth. And, it’s actually a grass, which is part of the reason it matures so quickly. But we’re talking three feet of growth in one day.
- Bamboo is a great replacement for wood. It is lightweight and flexible, yet stronger than hardwood and steel. Seriously, this stuff is no joke.
- Bamboo can be found all over the world. South America, North America, Africa, Asia…it can be found on almost all continents.
- Bamboo is an incredibly diverse material. Its uses range from culinary to medicinal, to construction, textile, weaponry, musical instruments and even can be used as a writing surface.
No we may be biased, but our favorite way to use bamboo is for office signs. Using bamboo as a substrate for office signs or any signs for that matter, is a great way to elevate your sign game.
