Two weeks ago, our entire team took a break from the everyday work flow to enjoy our First Ever OSClympics. Since the company started in 2008, CEO Ryan Fritz has done everything in his power to foster an environment that puts employees first, allowing culture to flourish and job satisfaction to reach its summit.
Although the company has been in existence for over eight years, this was the first year that we all joined together to compete in (semi)athletic challenges. OSClympics 2016 was a meaningful day for every one of us that competed and/or refereed, and here are four reasons why:
- Goals? Win. Whats required to win? Leaders AND players to have focus, be dedicated, and have discipline [Forbes] (sit-ups and push-ups take discipline!)
An environment that creates enjoyable office culture is not only when the leaders are empowered, but so are their employees [Entrepreneur], and OSClympics put success into the hands of the players.
- Attitude vs. Aptitude – while one can’t be taught and the other must be taught, some OSClympics participants’ attitude outweighed their aptitude [Forbes].
- The First Ever OSClypmics allowed us to lighten up and look like idiots – that’s fun!
- Some things in life are simple – like cheese puffs. It doesn’t cost much to make it fun. The company took a couple hours away from the office, but gained so much more in the end. (Yes, I’m talking about medals.)
